Alan M. Courtright, 75, of Seabeck died Thursday at his home from accidental injuries sustained on Feb. 20.
Born in Muskegon, MI, to A. Maywood and Yvette (Germaine Côté) Courtright, he grew up in Muskegon Heights, MI. He graduated from Utah State University and earned a master's degree in wildlife management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
On Aug. 31, 1971, he married Rosemary Grembla in Sitka, Alaska. He worked as a field biologist in Alaska and Guam and served as assistant director of game for the state of Alaska.
Mr. Courtright also owned and operated The Country Garden Nursery in Cheney from 1975 to 1986 and authored a self-published book, "The 6/12 Plan: Reslicing the Work Pie." He was a founder and mentor of Kitsap Computing Seniors.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years; three sons, Mitchel of Draper, Utah, and Jeffry and Chad, both of Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Spring of Suquamish; a sister, Yolande of Merville, B.C.; and two grandchildren, Andrea and Ryan, both of Boise, Idaho.
A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. June 11 at his home.
